Now, as time is passing - slowly the virus is getting faded away from the enws and from our memories. I am just looking at how various flu's have evolved in the past.... and should we worried about it!!
In not so distant past, we had another flu gripping lives of people - Avian Flu or bird flu; and now we had swine flu. We have also had cat flu. Then there is good old Seasonal flu. We have been attacked by the flu at various occasions and in different ways. Each time, the impacts have been similar on our lives. Also the symptoms and impacts too have been similar - cold, congestion, sore throat, sneezing, headache, chest pain, body discomfort, high fever, fatigue, weakness etc.....which dont even allow the infected patient from getting out of bed.
The major concern for worry is that Flu is most easily spreading disease..... just by breathing in air a droplet of the Flu virus infection. So it has a potential to spread as fast like a fire. This could be a reason that Swine Flu suddenly spread across from Mexico to US in no time - raising the panic alert.
Other surprising facts about flu are - how the various forms of flu have evolved across animals, and then on to humans. As per WHO - the virus is constantly changing its shape. The current form of virus is a combination of genes from birds, pigs and human beings. It can replicate infect and spread easily in humans. It has impacted mostly the youngsters, people in teens and people in mid-teens. The proportionate ration of infected people in mid 50s would be around 10-15% only.
Looking back at my entire analysis, yes... i need to be cautious about the influenza and flu's. So far, TamiFlu has been the only medicine that has been infected against influenza, or any of the flu viruses. Tamiflu should be best bet for us....till the scientists come up with some other solution and stop the deadly virus.
