Steps for this yoga exercise:- Lie down on the abdomen with forehead touching the floor, feet together and arms close to the body.
- Lift the arms up and extend out in front shoulder distance apart, palms touching the floor, separate the legs hip distance apart.
- Bend the right leg from knee, letting the knee touch the floor; and touch its ankle on to the hip.
- Raise the right arm and reach out to hold the right ankle.
- Inhale...while inhaling raise the right leg off the floor – arching the spine, also lift the left arm, head and chest.
- Breath normally; and hold the posture for 10-20 seconds while breathing normally.
- Exhale... lower the body and the right leg on the floor. Get your body in the position as done in step 2.
- Then repeat the same on other side.
The yoga exercises generally provide strength and to the body, and also revitalize the senses. But, if you are physically fit, you must consult a physician before starting any yoga exercise.
Who should not perform this yoga exercise -
- Who have a chronic injury to, or any recent injury to the hips, arms, neck and/or legs
- Who is pregnant
- Who have had a recent abdominal surgery
