More sleep is good for the heart of women

The research, conducted on 4600 people aged between 35 and 55 years, of which 75% were men, has shown that the marker or indicator of inflammation linked to cardiovascular disease, were lower in women who slept eight hours compared to those who had rested for seven. Details were monitored levels of a molecule, interleukin 6, in fact, a marker of inflammation in the body.
Previously with other studies had shown the effects of a quantity of sleep than the average who slept less than five hours a night were more at risk of being struck by a cardiovascular disease. Now, this research explains how women are more exposed and that their markers will vary depending on the hours actually spent in sleep.
Michelle Miller in charge of the study and research, said: "There is no doubt that the quality and duration of sleep, play a key role in heart health, especially for women."
