What is Depression?Depression is the feeling beneath a person’s mind – due to which either emotions flow very rapidly or they come to a stand still causing destruction to the human body. Generally it’s called as being sad or the feeling of sadness.
Depression can be found in teenagers as well as elderly people and till date, there is no fixed reason / exact causes for depression. It always varies depending on the situations people go through in their day to day life.
Ideally, a person suffering from depression is supposed to take treatment or find a solution for it as soon as possible otherwise the suffering may affect the human body in a very bad way taking it to the limits of a life harm.
How do we fight this deamon?Well it’s often said that if you do not like what you see or feel, change it. As a sincere and honest suggestion to all those friends who are suffering from depression or feeling sad – please do something about it and fight it out.
Why do we need Alchohol?In current day world; everyone prefers to switch to alcohol as an alternative to all the sadness and depression. But then aren’t we moving from one source of poison to another that threatens to take our valuable lives? Instead again if the focus is shifted towards positive things in life, there is no need. There are cases in history about people who are living peaceful and a very prosperous life post leaving their drinking habits that they gathered due to some stress / depression. Get rid of it!!
Start looking on the positive aspects in life instead of negativeDepression affects a person's thoughts, seeming to make everything around a person’s world negative and horrible. If this is the case – make a conscious effort to come out of it and look at the brighter aspects on life and start to focus on them. Consider your inner strengths to be the best and be proud about it and thank the almighty for it. Identify when our mood is not good. Do not visualize the unpleasant thoughts you have during that time, try to challenge these negative aspects with equal and positive strength
Take good care of yourself – pamper yourselfDepression can affect a person’s appetite and health. It works both ways - a person may not feel like eating at all, but another might overeat. If depression has affected your eating, you'll need to be extra mindful of getting the right kind of nutrition. Correct amount of nutrition is very very important for a person’s health and well being. So eat plenty of leafy vegetables and healthy fruits – pamper yourself well.
Be open and share your thoughts Get involved. An active life leaves very little space for depression to enter and start taking over. Getting into various motivational activities will reduce the times even for you to get involved in such kind of negative sessions. If the reason is a failure – do not get discouraged, set out another goal and run towards it and gather the energy to be able to achieve it.
Hang out and socialize a lot more with close friendsThis is probably one of the best possible alternatives to keep depression at bay. No matter how difficult it might seem to get out and smile – people around you are bound to at least make you smile and just that effort is enough to imbibe a positive flow of energy. Socializing is essential for all of us and you should see it as a fun activity. Have some friends who make you feel better and comfortable and it is easy for you to reconnect with them.
Experience those fresh morningsGo outside. Have a great pleasant morning walk; a peaceful walk can recharge your mind like anything. Try creative and adventurous activities like - a sport, fishing, hiking, cycling, and dancing and so on.
To overtake depression effectively, Yoga is another brilliant option to defeat all the negative energy as yoga has the power to recharge and regenerate you inner self and your soul. Get involved into a lot of meditation for peace of mind. Make new friends – hang out and have loads of fun.
Following even 20% of these can majorly help avoiding this daemon from destroying every person’s life. However above all we must always remember one thing – if we are in such kind of a situation, it’s all our doing. Then what are we getting sad about – why aren’t we charged enough to face it and knock it out of the way once and for ever!!
