Eight hours a night is the amount of sleep needed in women to prevent cardiovascular disease. Men, however, stand better in the effects of more limited night's sleep. It has appeared in a scientific journal, Sleep, that deduction is the result of a search conducted dall'University College London and University of Warwich.

The research, conducted on 4600 people aged between 35 and 55 years, of which 75% were men, has shown that the marker or indicator of inflammation linked to cardiovascular disease, were lower in women who slept eight hours compared to those who had rested for seven.
