Yoga Excercise : Child's Relaxation Pose (Garbhasana)

This asan stretches the spine and is a tonic for the whole body.It also soothes and calms your mind to the fullest.Even this asana is very easy to try out.
  • Sit with legs stretched out in your front.
  • Inhale ; extend the spine , bend both the legs and bring them close to the chest.
  • Exhale ; wrap the arms around the legs and hug yourself very tightly.
  • Focus the eyes towards the tip of the nose and hold this position for 60 seconds , breathing deeply.
  • Release the pose and lie down in shavasana.

Yoga Special : Yoga for Asthma and Spine Stiffness

Ardh Dhanurasana (Half bow-2)

"This Asana relieves all stiffness in the spine. At the same time it is very beneficial for all the respiratory problems, & cures one from asthma and bronchitis. It also tones the shoulders & hips; and reduces fat around these areas"

Steps for this yoga exercise:
  • Lie down on the abdomen with forehead touching the floor, feet together and arms close to the body.
  • Lift the arms up and extend out in front shoulder distance apart, palms touching the floor, separate the legs hip distance apart.
  • Bend the right leg from knee, letting the knee touch the floor; and touch its ankle on to the hip.
  • Raise the right arm and reach out to hold the right ankle.
  • Inhale...while inhaling raise the right leg off the floor – arching the spine, also lift the left arm, head and chest.
  • Breath normally; and hold the posture for 10-20 seconds while breathing normally.
  • Exhale... lower the body and the right leg on the floor. Get your body in the position as done in step 2.
  • Then repeat the same on other side.

The yoga exercises generally provide strength and to the body, and also revitalize the senses. But, if you are physically fit, you must consult a physician before starting any yoga exercise.


Who should not perform this yoga exercise -

  • Who have a chronic injury to, or any recent injury to the hips, arms, neck and/or legs
  • Who is pregnant
  • Who have had a recent abdominal surgery

Supta Padasana: yoga exercise for improving digestion and abdominal muscles


"This asana strengthens abdominal muscles, increases vitality, and improves digestion & circulation"

  • Lie flat on the floor with legs together and arms behind the head, palm facing upwards.
  • Keep your head straight, with chin tucked in.
  • Inhale.
  • Raise both legs up to 90 degrees, or, as far as you feel comfortable, while inhaling the breath...without exhaling.
  • Hold the pose for two breaths (still do not exhale). During this pose, try not to arch the lower back, but pull the abdominal muscles inwards.
  • Exhale. Bring both legs down.
  • Continue for 10 rounds. If your lower back is weak, do it against a wall.

This asana (yoga exercise) flexes your abdominal muscles, strengthening them. It puts some pressure on you stomach and helps in correcting the disorders relating to pancreas. This also improves the digestion system of your body. This asana also puts a pressure on your hip joints, thigh muscles, waist and spinal cord. Regular exercise, strengthens your thighs as well, flattens your tummy, and helps you reduce the weight. Xenical also contains the required ingredients that help you reduce weight.

Do not perform this exercise, if you have problem of spinal cord, or if you have had some kind of abdominal surgery and still undergoing treatment. In case your muscles are getting overstretched because of this asana, please lie flat on the floor for 2 minutes and stop the exercise immediately.

Bhujanganasa: yoga excercise for relaxing the Pelvis


"This pose stretches , the inner thighs and groin , relaxes the pelvis and energizes the spine"


  • Lie on the stomach , bend arms and place the right palms over the left ; place the forehead on the palms focussing on breath.
  • Bend the knee and spread them as far apart as possible , then bring the soles of the feet together.
  • Without lifting the pelvis relax the inner thighs ans muscles around the hip joints.Lower the feet on the floor keeping soles together.
  • Relax , breathe deeply , allow weight of the legs to gently open inner thighs and the groin . Hold , and then release.
This pose is very effective for relaxing muscles , but if you are suffering from muscle pains from quite a long time than you must try drug Skelaxin as it works by blocking nerve impulses (or pain sensations) that are sent to your brain, suggesting you dont feel the pain after taking this drug.
